From the SKILL.md

# Nature Methods (nature-methods) ## Journal positioning Nature Methods is the Nature Portfolio's dedicated venue for new methods, approaches, and technologies in the life sciences and related disciplines, with the distinguishing requirement that a published method must be generalizable — applicable by other researchers to their own biological questions — and thoroughly benchmarked against alternatives. The journal's editorial culture is highly skeptical of incremental improvements; what wins is a genuinely new capability or a step-change in performance that enables previously impossible or impractical experiments. The readership is broadly all life scientists who need to understand and adopt new tools, making technical clarity and honest benchmarking as important as scientific novelty. This skill is a **fit / venue-selection / re-framing** tool. It does not replace the journal's current official submission guidelines. About this skill
What does the nature-methods skill do?

Use when targeting Nature Methods or deciding whether a methods/tools manuscript fits this venue. Encodes the journal's fit, framing, method-and-evidence bar, house style, official-submission re-check, and desk-reject heuristics.

How do I install it?

Run `npx skills add brycewang-stanford/Awesome-Journal-Skills --skill nature-methods --agent claude-code` — it drops the skill into your project so the agent can pick it up. Swap the --agent value for codex, cursor or copilot if you use one of those.

Where does this skill come from?

From brycewang-stanford/Awesome-Journal-Skills, a repository with 984 stars. We read it straight from the repository tree rather than a submitted listing, so what you see here is what is actually published.

Is a popular skill a good skill?

Not necessarily. Stars measure attention, not adoption — a repository can trend for a week and be abandoned. That is why we show the weekly change from our own snapshots next to the total, instead of a single flattering number.
