Does the badge update by itself?
Yes. It is an image served from vibecrowd.fund and regenerated hourly from live data — you paste the snippet once and the number keeps itself current. If the startup climbs, the badge climbs.
What happens if my rank drops?
The badge shows the truth, whatever it is. There is no frozen or cached-best version — the point of it is that it is verifiable, which is what makes it worth showing.
Why is there no badge for fastest growing?
Because that ranking has a filter we apply on our side: growth only counts against a previous month worth at least $1,000. A badge computes its position with a database counter, which cannot reproduce that filter — so it would quietly report a better rank than the real one. Rather than ship a number we cannot stand behind, we leave that ranking without a badge.
Can I use it in a GitHub README?
Yes — use the Markdown snippet. It is a plain SVG over HTTPS with permissive CORS, so it renders anywhere an image renders.
Do I need to claim the startup first?
No. The badge reflects public ranking data, so anyone can embed it. Claiming your startup is a separate thing and gets you editing rights on the profile itself.
