poq-rebuttal

Use when writing the response to a Public Opinion Quarterly (POQ) revise-and-resubmit. POQ referees are survey methodologists who often push on Total Survey Error and AAPOR disclosure, so the response must satisfy each referee on substance and method while keeping the associate editor confident the revision converges. Structures the response letter; it does not fabricate new results.

From the SKILL.md

# R&R Rebuttal (poq-rebuttal) A POQ **R&R is an opportunity** — but the referees are survey scientists, and their comments often turn on **Total Survey Error** (coverage, nonresponse, wording, mode, weighting) and **AAPOR disclosure**. The response letter must move *every* referee toward yes on both substance and method, while keeping the **associate editor** confident the revision is convergent.

About this skill
What does the poq-rebuttal skill do?

Use when writing the response to a Public Opinion Quarterly (POQ) revise-and-resubmit. POQ referees are survey methodologists who often push on Total Survey Error and AAPOR disclosure, so the response must satisfy each referee on substance and method while keeping the associate editor confident the revision converges. Structures the response letter; it does not fabricate new results.

How do I install it?

Run `npx skills add brycewang-stanford/Awesome-Journal-Skills --skill poq-rebuttal --agent claude-code` — it drops the skill into your project so the agent can pick it up. Swap the --agent value for codex, cursor or copilot if you use one of those.

Where does this skill come from?

From brycewang-stanford/Awesome-Journal-Skills, a repository with 909 stars. We read it straight from the repository tree rather than a submitted listing, so what you see here is what is actually published.

Is a popular skill a good skill?

Not necessarily. Stars measure attention, not adoption — a repository can trend for a week and be abandoned. That is why we show the weekly change from our own snapshots next to the total, instead of a single flattering number.
