meal-prep-os

Turn what's actually in the fridge and 90 minutes on Sunday into a week that mostly feeds itself — a cook-once-eat-thrice batch plan, the component method (bases, proteins, sauces that recombine so leftovers don't bore you), honest food-safety day-counts flagged, and the Thursday problem solved in advance. Use when someone says 'meal prep my week', 'what do I cook with what I have', 'we spend too much on takeaway', or 'I'm sick of eating the same thing four days'. Produces the Sunday cook plan, the recombination map, and the shopping delta.

From the SKILL.md

# Meal Prep OS Skill Meal prep fails two ways: the ambitious version (five new recipes, Sunday dies, never again) and the boring version (one tray of chicken and rice eaten with declining enthusiasm until Thursday's takeaway). The version that survives is a *system*: cook components, not meals — two bases, two proteins, two sauces — and recombine them so Wednesday tastes different from Monday; start from what's already in the kitchen; keep Sunday under 90 minutes; and plan the Thursday dip on purpose, because the week's weakest night is a design input, not a moral failure. ## What This Skill Produces - A **Sunday cook plan**, ordered for one oven and two burners, timed to ~90 minutes: what goes on first, what happens in the gaps - The **recombination map**: components × 4–5 distinct meals (bowls, wraps, salads, the fried-rice mercy move), so repetition isn't repetitive - The **shopping delta**: what to buy given what's already there — the fridge inventory is the starting point, not the bin - **Storage & safety notes**: what keeps how long, what freezes at the start (the Thursday insurance), each day-count flagged as general-guidance-verify-locally rather than gospel - The **Thursda

About this skill
What does the meal-prep-os skill do?

Turn what's actually in the fridge and 90 minutes on Sunday into a week that mostly feeds itself — a cook-once-eat-thrice batch plan, the component method (bases, proteins, sauces that recombine so leftovers don't bore you), honest food-safety day-counts flagged, and the Thursday problem solved in advance. Produces the Sunday cook plan, the recombination map, and the shopping delta.

How do I install it?

Run `npx skills add mohitagw15856/pm-claude-skills --skill meal-prep-os --agent claude-code` — it drops the skill into your project so the agent can pick it up. Swap the --agent value for codex, cursor or copilot if you use one of those.

Where does this skill come from?

From mohitagw15856/pm-claude-skills, a repository with 1,255 stars. We read it straight from the repository tree rather than a submitted listing, so what you see here is what is actually published.

Is a popular skill a good skill?

Not necessarily. Stars measure attention, not adoption — a repository can trend for a week and be abandoned. That is why we show the weekly change from our own snapshots next to the total, instead of a single flattering number.
