From the SKILL.md

## Intent Systematically evaluate multiple alternatives against defined criteria to produce a recommendation with transparent tradeoff analysis. Comparison enables informed decision-making through structured analysis. **Success criteria:** - All options evaluated against same criteria - Criteria weighted by importance - Clear recommendation with rationale - Tradeoffs explicitly documented **Compatible schemas:** - `schemas/output_schema.yaml` ## Inputs | Parameter | Required | Type | Description | |-----------|----------|------|-------------| | `options` | Yes | array[string\|object] | Alternatives to compare (2+ items) | | `criteria` | Yes | array[string\|object] | Evaluation dimensions with optional weights | | `context` | No | object | Constraints, priorities, or decision context | | `must_have` | No | array[string] | Required criteria (eliminates options that fail) | ## Procedure 1) **Enumerate options**: List all alternatives under consideration - Verify each option is viable (not obviously invalid) - Ensure options are at same abstraction level - Flag if options are not mutually exclusive 2) **Define criteria**: Establish evaluation dimensions - Quantitative criteria: measura

About this skill
What does the compare skill do?

Compare multiple alternatives using explicit criteria, weighted scoring, and tradeoff analysis. Use when choosing between options, evaluating alternatives, or making decisions.

How do I install it?

Run `npx skills add majiayu000/claude-skill-registry --skill compare --agent claude-code` — it drops the skill into your project so the agent can pick it up. Swap the --agent value for codex, cursor or copilot if you use one of those.

Where does this skill come from?

From majiayu000/claude-skill-registry, a repository with 534 stars. We read it straight from the repository tree rather than a submitted listing, so what you see here is what is actually published.

Is a popular skill a good skill?

Not necessarily. Stars measure attention, not adoption — a repository can trend for a week and be abandoned. That is why we show the weekly change from our own snapshots next to the total, instead of a single flattering number.
