What it does

Guides the agent to provide expert knowledge on Azure Cosmos DB development, including troubleshooting, best practices, decision making, architecture & design patterns, limits & quotas, security, configuration, integrations & coding patterns, and deployment. It is intended for tasks involving Cosmos DB NoSQL/Mongo/Cassandra/PostgreSQL APIs, change feed, multi-region HA, vector search, Kafka/Spark, and related development work.   • Provide guidance by category, using the Category Index to locate relevant sections. For categories with line ranges, read the file with the specified lines; for linked categories (e.g., integrations.md, deployment.md), read the linked reference file.
  • If the metadata timestamp is older than 3 months, suggest pulling the latest version. If mcp_microsoftdocs tools are unavailable, suggest installing them via the provided installation guide.
  • Access specific troubleshooting, best practices, architecture, and deployment content through the category sections listed (e.g., Troubleshooting, Best Practices, Deployment, etc.).

When to use it

Use when working on Cosmos DB development tasks across APIs, including change feed, multi-region HA, vector search, and Kafka/Spark integrations. Not applicable for non-Cosmos DB storage or databases as noted in the description.
